The Audio Stuff: Hi-Fi Reviews, No Ads

Every piece of hi-fi gear has a catch. This site tells you what it is.

The Audio Stuff reviews headphones, IEMs, DACs, amplifiers, speakers, microphones and hi-fi accessories, and every review leads with the thing spec sheets leave out. A flagship headphone might have peaky treble. A beautifully built DAC might skip balanced outputs on purpose. An acoustic panel might do nothing for bass. You find out in the first screen, before the long read.

Each product gets at least two weeks of daily listening before a verdict is written. The site runs no ads, uses no affiliate links and takes no money for coverage.

What you get in every review

1. The verdict up front: a score out of 10, a verdict tier, pros and cons, and a "watch out for" line naming the main drawback.
2. Sound signature in plain words: for example warm with punchy bass or bright and lean, so you can match the product to your taste quickly.
3. Full specifications: taken from the manufacturer and corrected when the maker's own page disagrees.
4. Price history: list price, the lowest current price found across several stores, and how the price has moved over time.
5. "Already own something in this class?": how the product stacks up against gear you may already have.
6. A product-specific Q&A: real buyer questions, such as whether a headphone works from a phone or which of two rivals suits you better.
7. Alternatives and head-to-heads: links to the closest competitors and direct comparisons.
8. A video review: every written review has a matching video on YouTube.
9. A public corrections log: if anything changes, including the score, the old version stays visible with the date and the reason.

Made by listeners, not marketers

The Audio Stuff was started in Poland in 2023 by Jakub Charkiewicz, with reviewer Bastien Beauchamp joining in 2026. Brands never see a review before it goes live, and loaned units are marked as loans. What gets reviewed next depends on reader requests and merit, not on who is sending gear.
