Tavo AI is an AI roleplay chat application built around privacy and freedom from artificial restrictions. The app is designed for AI roleplay enthusiasts who want to use their own private API keys and character cards without the censorship or filtering that hosted roleplay services typically impose. For roleplayers who have hit content walls on other platforms — where a model refuses a scene or softens a character's voice because of server-side rules — Tavo AI removes that layer and lets the fiction be governed by the user and the model they chose.

The privacy model is straightforward. Because you connect with your own private API keys, your conversations go directly between your device and the model provider or self-hosted endpoint you selected, rather than through an intermediary server that logs and moderates the content. That keeps roleplay private and keeps control of the data in your hands. It also means the only content rules that apply are the ones set by the model provider you picked — and if you run your own endpoint, even those are yours to define.
