Palmier Io is an open-source, AI-native video editor that turns the timeline into a programmable canvas for both humans and AI agents. Backed by Y Combinator and available on macOS, it is built for creators who want generation, editing, and automation in one native tool.

AI generation is woven into the editing experience. Palmier Io integrates leading models such as Kling AI, ByteDance Seedance, Google Veo, and xAI Grok Imagine, so you can produce video, images, and audio as timeline actions without leaving the editor. Generated assets appear directly on your timeline.

The editor itself holds up to professional use. Multi-track timelines accommodate video, audio, images, and text, with trimming, splitting, speed adjustments, opacity, and transforms. Real footage and AI clips share tracks and can be mixed freely, which makes hybrid storytelling practical.

Through Model Context Protocol support, Palmier Io lets agents like Claude Desktop, Cursor, and Codex read project data and apply timeline edits programmatically, opening the door to agentic editing workflows. Exports include MP4 in H.264, H.265, and ProRes, along with NLE XML for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. The base editor is free; AI generation runs on a credit system.
