img2threejs

Under the hood, img2threejs is a study in procedural generation done right. The core idea: take a single reference image, analyze it, and write Three.js code that rebuilds the subject as a quality-gated, animation-ready model. Everything is code — no imported meshes, no external assets, no black boxes. The live demo gallery is the proof, with every model generated by img2threejs running in your browser.

The technical pipeline has three stages. Stage one, reference: img2threejs ingests one photo of the object or character. Stage two, analyze and spec: the tool examines the image and produces a specification covering geometry, materials, and structure. Stage three, procedural generation: img2threejs emits TypeScript that reconstructs the subject as a Three.js model. Because the output is source code, you can read exactly how each model was built — the gallery links every demo to the code it came from.

The quality bar is visible in the gallery's version history. Early v1.2 demos (Gerber Paracord Knife, Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds, Doraemon House diorama) established the object track. v1.3 added the BMX Endurance Bike and Classic Knife Fade. v1.4 refined weapon reconstruction with the Glock-18 Ghost Protocol, M9 Bayonet Doppler Phase 2, and the v1.4.4 Talon Knife Doppler Ruby with its cs2-knife adapter. The v1.5-beta line introduced the procedural character track — the Low-Poly Humanoid rig and the Pikachu 10K Star Celebration — plus the v1.5.0 character rig and the V2 AWP Medusa rebuild with custom rifle adapter, blockout, projection, and interactions. Each release of img2threejs pushes the procedural approach further.
