Gesture Synth Weld Vercel App is a browser-based musical instrument that lets you play chords using nothing but your hands and a webcam. Powered by MediaPipe Hands gesture recognition and a Web Audio API engine, the experience turns hand position and motion into a continuous, generative synthesizer track. Nothing has to be installed: open the URL, click to enable audio, and start performing.
The product strips away the usual complexity of a synthesizer. A dark stage hosts the camera feed and a compact amber monospace HUD. The active chord is displayed in large letters at the bottom, an eight-segment volume meter climbs on the right, a tone read-out reports distortion depth, and a density display tells you how many notes are stacked. A discreet key selector lets visitors pick any of the twelve chromatic roots, starting at A 220Hz so the experience is ready to play immediately.
The audio engine is built for expressive performance. A configurable oscillator bank feeds a low-pass filter with a sweeping cutoff, then a WaveShaper distortion node so the same gesture can deliver a soft pad or a gritty lead. A chord map translates recognised gestures into scale-degree stacks, while right-hand inputs can shift voicings an octave up for fuller harmony. Six Roman-numeral voicings are available out of the box.
Two-handed inputs are fully supported. Visitors can stack dense chords, widen intervals, or trigger complementary motifs by combining different gestures from each hand. Because every gesture is mapped to a sonic event, the experience feels closer to an interactive composition than a tutorial, and intentional silence is honoured as carefully as a sustained chord.
Gesture Synth Weld Vercel App is ideal for sound designers exploring camera-driven instruments, music educators searching for an engaging classroom demo, indie performers who need a portable rig, and curious users who want to play chords without traditional hardware. The product is hosted on Vercel, so the only setup required is the URL and a working webcam.
